Day trading is the buying and selling of certain stocks within a single day. This is a rather "modern" technique of trading although it's been around for about thirty-seven years or so.

All positions are closed usually before the close of trading day because the main goal is basically to be able to profit from the difference between prices for buying and selling. Such a practice makes it highly speculative. Therefore it is no surprise that more than 70% of day traders lose money.

It is important to understand the risks involved in day trading before deciding to take the plunge.
Continue reading "Understanding The Risks of Day Trading"

Timing is everything, and that saying could not be more true when it comes to making money in stock investments. There is this rather ugly part of human nature that wants to hold on to things for the sake of squeezing every ounce of usefulness out that particular thing.

Same can be said of stock investors. The reason why many people do not make money at all is because they hold on their stocks too long.

Setting your financial goals and the willingness to stick to them can easily spell the difference between making money in the market or missing the boat.
Continue reading "Knowing When To Sell Your Stocks"

The phrase "diversifying your portfolio" is often thrown around by stock traders when explaining strategies to those who are about to get their feet wet in investments. Some folks merely nod their heads as the trader continues with even more technical jargon without truly understanding what the explanation was all about.

Portfolio diversification is basically a trading strategy meant to minimize your risks. The higher the risks, the more the potential for losses. This is basically a non-technical way of saying "do not put all your eggs in one basket".
Continue reading "The Importance Of Diversifying Your Portfolio"

Remember the saying "a fool and his money are soon parted"? This seems to be the theme when it comes to day trading beginners. Just do a search for day trading losses in your favorite search engine and sure enough, the statistics are mind-boggling.

Most of the search results will show that a staggering 70-90% of day traders lose money. Those kinds of statistics are almost equivalent to the ones that measure the number of people who lose money when gambling. So is it fair to say that day trading is like gambling?
Continue reading "Day Trading--Best Left To The Pros?"

Day trading has been a lucrative industry in the last eight to ten years or so. This is especially true in the United States. Although the American economy has gone through up's and down's during that span, the U.S. dollar has been particularly resilient. This is the allure of the dollar to investors from all over the world. It is unquestionably the "safe haven" currency.

Economic realities are a function of the stock market. When the economy is sluggish, chances are companies also feel the strain. But the trend in the last ten years has been that even if the stocks suffer a slide, it usually comes back strong in a matter of a few weeks. To be able to trade successfully in the market, one needs a sharp nose for these kind of things. If you don't, then you should consider hiring a broker or even a coach or else you end up very dead in the water.
Continue reading "Professional Day Trading Coaching"

Trading in the stock market is appealing to many people. Oftentimes, their curiosity is aroused when they hear success stories from friends and/or relatives. These anecdotes create a sense that investing in stocks is simple and easy. In a way, that may be true but before one dives in, they should understand the amount of experience the person telling the stories has in stock trading.

Experience has taught these people what to do and what not to do. More than that, experience has taught them that diving right unprepared will only lead to failure. In order to avoid failure, one should set a goal first before taking that first step into the world of stocks trading. The equation isn't very difficult--experience plus realistic goals equals better chance of success.
Continue reading "Setting An Investment Goal"
